Absentee voting information for August 2026 Primary Election

Absentee ballots for the August 4, 2026, Primary Election will be available beginning June 23, 2026, in the office of the County Clerk, Paula Brumfield, 100 W. Church, Room 304, in the Christian County Courthouse.

Absentee voting may be done in person or by mail.

Voters, who would like to vote in person, may come to the County Clerk's Office Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon on Saturday, Aug. 1, 2026, prior to the election.

Requests for an absentee ballot can be done by mail, fax, email or in person, by his or her guardian or relative. The absentee application is available on the Christian County website.

All absentee applications must be received in the County Clerk's Office no later than July 22, 2026, the second Wednesday prior to the election, and includes the following information:

  1. The request shall be in writing.

  2. Shall state the applicant's name.

  3. Address at which he or she is registered.

  4. His or her reason for voting absentee.

  5. Address to where the ballot is to be mailed.

  6. The request must also be signed by the applicant and mailed to:

Reasons for voting by absentee ballot include:

  • Absent on Election Day.

  • Incapacity or confinement due to illness or physical disability. This does include the caregiver for that person.

  • Religious belief or practice.

  • Employment as an election authority or by an election authority, first responder, health care worker, or member of law enforcement.

  • Persons in federal service, their spouses and dependents.

  • Certified participation in the address confidentiality program established under sections 589.660 to 589.681 because of safety concerns.
